Details of the aggregate volume of electricity generation in Q2 2015

Hong Kong, China, 7 July 2015 - United Photovoltaics Group Limited (“United PV” or the “Company”, stock code: 00686.HK, whose largest shareholder is China Merchants New Energy Group “CMNE”), a leading solar power plant investor and operator in China, today announced the electricity generation volume of the Company and its associates in the second quarter (the “period”) of 2015. The aggregate volume of electricity generation in the period of the 20 solar power plants with an aggregate installed capacity of 617MW increased to 229,124MWh, representing a 16% increase compared to the first quarter of 2015. Moreover, the aggregate volume of electricity generation for the six months ended 30 June 2015 of the aforementioned solar power plants reached 426,657MWh.

Compared to the first quarter of 2015, the increase of electricity generation in the period was mainly due to:

1) the successful acquisitions of a number of solar power plants in Xinjiang, the electricity generation of the 5 solar power plants in the period surged 107% q-on-q to 40,044MWh;

2) the raising of the utilization rate of the solar power plants in the Qianhai Bay Bonded Port Area in Guangdong via optimizing management and operation, its electricity generation increased 33% q-on-q;

3) seasonal factors, the electricity generation performance of most of the projects was better than which in the first quarter.

United PV is the first solar power plants operator which discloses its electricity generation volume data on the HKEx. The steady growth in electricity generation volume in the period proved the effective implementation of the company strategies.
