In the height of July, the 3rd China International Supply Chain Expo (“CISCE”) grandly opened today at the China International Exhibition Center in Beijing.
As one of the energy suppliers for the CISCE, Beijing Jingneng International Integrated Smart Energy Company (hereinafter referred to as “the company”), a subsidiary of Beijing Energy Holding (BEH), has implemented innovative green energy solutions to support China’s dual carbon goals and the expo’s sustainability commitment. Through its “on-site photovoltaic generation + off-site green certificate procurement” dual approach, the company ensures 100% green electricity coverage throughout the event, branding the CISCE with a bold green signature.
Smart Energy Upgrades: Building Green Foundations
Prior to the event, the company was deeply involved in energy-saving renovations of the venue. Through the establishment of a smart energy management platform and the upgrading of the air conditioning automation system, the lighting efficiency of the venue was significantly improved, and air conditioning was supplied on demand. Transitioning from centralized energy supply to intelligent regulation, the company leveraged innovative technologies to reshape the energy paradigm for the CISCE.
Rooftop Solar: Harvesting Sunlight
On the rooftop of the exhibition center, a solar energy transformation is underway. The company fully utilized rooftop space across eight exhibition halls to construct large-scale distributed photovoltaic systems, with a total installed capacity of 11.5 MW. The 100,000-square-meter PV array converts sunlight into clean energy. It is expected to supply 250,000 kWh of green electricity during the expo, continuously powering the event with sustainable energy.
A representative of the company stated: “This isn’t just about power supply. We’re creating an integrated energy ecosystem—combining photovoltaics, energy-saving upgrades, and smart transformation. The significance of this project lies not only in the 11.5 MW of green power supplied, but in the full-chain optimization from energy generation to application—maximizing every kilowatt-hour and every energy-saving measure for precise results.”
Green Certificates: Boosting the Supply of Clean Electricity
To ensure that all electricity used at the expo comes from green sources, the company also procured green power certificates for the organizers, covering 900,000 kWh of green electricity. This enables every kilowatt-hour to be traceable and certifiable, forming a closed-loop green energy system from production to consumption.
The expo will run through July 20. During this period, the company is expected to supply a total of 1.15 GWh of green electricity—equivalent to saving about 350 tons of standard coal and reducing around 1,100 tons of carbon dioxide emissions. This not only meets the organizers’ low-carbon energy needs, but also provides a visible and practical pathway toward “zero-carbon exhibitions” for the entire convention and exhibition industry.
