Recently, Zhang Ping, chairman of the Board of Directors of Beijing Energy International, was invited by H.E. Graham Fletcher, Australian ambassador to China, to attend a luncheon hosted by the Australian Embassy in China to discuss the latest situation of bilateral relations and the “carbon neutrality and decarbonization agenda” of climate change and its impact on the strategy and investment plan. Xavier Simonet, chief executive officer of the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), Rob Donelly, general manager of Austrade (Greater China), Simon Farbenbloom, Minister-Counsellor (Economic) of Australian Embassy in China, Dr. Chris Perks, Counsellor (Treasury), Jessica Brown, Counsellor (Industry, Science and Resources), Polly Wilson, Second Secretary (Policy) and other relevant personnel attended the luncheon.





During the meeting, Xavier Simonet spoke highly of Beijing Energy International’s positive role in supplying clean power and creating jobs in Australia. He said that the company’s investment activities in Australia reflect the mutually beneficial and win-win nature of Australia-China cooperation, and the clean energy cooperation between the two countries enjoys great potential.

Zhang Ping highlighted that the company will further integrate its advanced management concept and rich experience in clean energy with local resources in Australia in its efforts to build a first-class international clean energy provider, green investor and operator, and will work closely with local communities and society to provide more clean energy for local residents and facilitate the realization of Australian carbon emission reduction targets in 2030.
