Goldpoly New Energy Proposed Change of Company Name to “United Photovoltaic Group Limited” to Focus on Acquisition and Operation of Solar Farm Business

(PRC, Hong Kong, 11 December, 2013) - Goldpoly New Energy Holdings Limited ("Goldpoly" or "the Company", HK stock code: 686, whose largest shareholder is China Merchants New Energy Group "CMNE") , yesterday announced proposed change of company name from ‘‘Goldpoly New Energy Holdings Limited’’ to ‘‘United Photovoltaics Group Limited’’ and “聯合光伏集團有限公司’’as its official Chinese name. 


The Board considers the proposed new name of the Company will refresh the corporate image, reflect and emphasize the company’s development direction of focusing on downstream solar farm business in the PV industry, and is in line with the Company’s strategy of leveraging quality resources from various stakeholders to establish a healthy photovoltaic green ecosystem, which the Board considers is in the interest of the Company and its shareholders as a whole. 

Mr. ZhenWei Lu, Executive Director of Goldpoly/Managing Director of China Merchants Capital, said, “Goldpoly is engaged in the acquisition and operation of photovoltaic power plants. The proposed change of company name to “United Photovoltaic Group Limited” is to better reflect the Company’s core business, so as to endow it with a clearer positioning and image. The Company aims to become the most efficient and professional platform for operating photovoltaic power plants in PRC.
