On May 6, Zhang Ping, Executive Director and President of Beijing Energy International, met in Beijing with Zhou Yang, Party Secretary of Yuhuan City, Zhejiang Province, and his delegation. The two sides held discussions on deepening cooperation in areas including the Zhonglu Island Modern Marine Ranch Complex Project and comprehensive marine economy demonstration initiatives.

During the meeting, both sides conducted in-depth exchanges on the design planning and implementation progress of the project. They agreed that it is essential to respond to the national strategy and seize the historic opportunities arising from the country’s large-scale marine development. Relying on the marine and island resource advantages of Zhonglu Island, the two sides plan to develop a multi-integrated marine economy demonstration island featuring offshore integrated energy, marine ranching, subsea computing power, and island tourism, with the goal of building a three-dimensional, highly distinctive, and nationally leading benchmark for a high-quality marine economy complex. The two sides also established a dedicated project task force to accelerate project approval and facilitate the early commencement of construction of the project. Going forward, both sides will build on this project, leverage their respective strengths, and explore cooperation opportunities in areas such as port economy, marine new energy, and advanced manufacturing. They will further identify diversified cooperation scenarios to promote early project implementation and jointly support the high-quality development of Yuhuan’s marine economy and energy transition.
