On February 11, Unit 2 of Beijing Energy International’s Yangjiang Yangxi Natural Gas CCHP Project successfully concluded its 96-hour full-load trial run, demonstrating stable technical parameters and superior performance. With the steam blowing of Unit 1 also completed, this milestone marks a robust “kick-off” for the company’s high-quality development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period.

Located in Yangxi County, Yangjiang City, Guangdong, this is the company’s first large-scale integrated smart energy CCHP project within an industrial park. Phase I features two 120MW gas-steam combined cycle units, supported by the Beijing Energy Holding’s inaugural natural gas off-take station and a dedicated gas pipeline. This infrastructure ensures the autonomy and reliability of natural gas resources, securing the fuel supply chain at its source while significantly bolstering the project’s profitability and risk resilience. Concurrently, the integrated park-wide heat network provides enterprises with high-quality steam at constant pressure and reliable quality 24/7. This effectively eliminates heating bottlenecks within the park, mitigates regional emission pressures, and creates a synergistic “peak-shaving and valley-filling” regulatory effect for both gas and power loads.
The seamless completion of the 96-hour continuous stable trial run for Yangxi Unit 2 signifies the project’s formal transition into commercial operation, laying a pivotal foundation for full-capacity grid-connected power generation. With a designed annual output of 1.126 billion kWh and a heat supply of 2.5454 million GJ, the project will substantially enhance power security in Yangjiang and provide robust support for the local multi-energy complementary new power system. Furthermore, it will drastically curtail coal consumption in the region, improve urban air quality, and inject powerful momentum into the local economy. It stands as a critical safeguard for Guangdong in winning the “Battle for Blue Skies” and driving the green, low-carbon transformation of society and the economy.
